Botulinum Toxin (Botox)

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, sometimes referred to as “Botox” by patients, is a popular injectable that temporarily reduces or eliminates facial fine lines and wrinkles.

This cosmetic treatment is based on a purified form of botulinum toxin, a protein produced by bacteria. Botox Cosmetic temporarily interrupts signals from nerve endings to muscles, which causes muscle relaxation and prevents wrinkles. This is done by injecting tiny amounts of this substance into each wrinkle or muscle you want to treat. The result is smoother, youthful skin that looks and feels younger!

The most commonly treated areas are frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet near the eyes. Several other areas have been treated such as thick bands in the neck, thick jaw muscles, lip lines and gummy smiles.

Dermal Fillers Minimally Invasive Procedures

For a younger, fresher and more contoured appearance, choose from one of our injectable procedures. Depending on your needs, we offer the following options: Botox Cosmetic for wrinkles and glabellar lines, Radiesse for lip augmentation and correction of sunken cheeks, Dysport for moderate to severe frown lines. All of our injectable treatments are administered in our state-of-the-art facilities and governed by Dr. Nikolis who is an experienced and board certified aesthetic surgeon.

Kybella is an injectable fat-dissolving treatment, used to reduce small areas of excess fat. A synthetic version of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring bile enzyme in the gut, Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable that permanently reduces submental fat.

Other small pockets of fat on the body, including above the knees and elbows, upper arms, and the bra roll, can also be treated “off-label” using the treatment.

The Kybella treatment involves multiple injections in the targeted area, and patients typically need a series of sessions to achieve significant results.

Your outcome will be determined by your anatomy, how much fat you need to remove, and whether your skin is elastic (or prone to sagging once fat is removed). There is a possibility that slimming treatments could work really well for you, or you might have to undergo more treatments than others to get the results you desire.

Microneedling, also known as collagen-induction therapy, is a nonsurgical treatment that penetrates the skin’s surface with fine needles. There are a number of benefits to this procedure, including the ability to smooth wrinkles and lines, even skin tone (and even stubborn melasma), minimize large pores, firm skin, and fade stretch marks and scars, including acne scarring.

Microneedling can seem a bit medieval, but it activates a similar wound-healing response, stimulating cellular regeneration.

Laser skin resurfacing: what is it?

Laser skin resurfacing can reduce facial wrinkles, scars, and blemishes. It is also known as a laser peel, laser vaporization, or lasabrasion. Your plastic surgeon can now perform laser surfacing with greater precision thanks to newer laser technologies.

The benefits of laser skin resurfacing

  • Fine lines or wrinkles around your eyes, forehead, or mouth
  • Acne or chickenpox scars
  • Skin that is non-responsive after a facelift
  • Skin that is aging or sun-damaged
  • Liver spots
  • Boost your complexion if you have yellowish or grayish skin
  • Warts
  • A birthmark such as a linear epidermal nevus
  • Nasal oil glands that are enlarged

Resurfacing of the skin with lasers: how does it work?

The key is to use beams of light. The laser sends short, concentrated pulsating beams of light to irregular skin. The process removes the unwanted, damaged skin layer by layer in a very precise manner.

Laser skin resurfacing’s targeted approach means there are fewer problems with hypopigmentation, or a lightening of skin, for procedures such as laser acne scar removal.

When you undergo laser resurfacing, the laser beam will remove the epidermis, the outer layer of your skin. During this process, the dermis, the underlying layer of skin, is heated. The action stimulates the growth of new collagen fibers. Smoother and firmer skin forms as the treated area heals.

Lip Filler

Lip fillers: what are they?

Fillers can add volume to the lips, correct uneven lips, lift the corners of the mouth, define the Cupid’s bow, enhance the lip border, and smooth out lip lines and wrinkles. Several types of fillers are used in lip augmentation procedures, but hyaluronic acid is the most popular.

Depending on your goals and your provider’s preference, Restylane and Juvéderm are the most popular fillers. To achieve different results, your provider may use just one type or a combination.

  • With Juvéderm Ultra XC, you can achieve a pillowy effect with subtle volume.
  • In addition to adding volume, Volbella XC smooths vertical lip lines for up to one year.
  • All-over lip volume can be achieved with Restylane.
  • Due to the smaller hyaluronic acid molecules in this formula, Restylane Silk enhances the lips more subtly, lasting around six months.
  • Hyaluronic acid filler Restylane Kysse: Approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Restylane Kysse plump lips while also diminishing smoker’s lines on the lips. With its long lasting effects and lidocaine content, Kysse has become a popular treatment option.
